Are the electorate all voted out and can’t be bothered?

Are people keen to get it done and dusted and will turn out in their masses ?

Or will it be same old same old (66-68%)

One week to go, your views please.

Tower Hamlets will make their usual strong showing with 110% turnout

It was 68.7% in 2017.

My gut feel is that it’ll drop quite markedly due to voter apathy.

I also don’t get that feel that trees an election in the air.

Purely anecdotal but something is missing.

Maybe we need a big foot in mouth moment.

I don't think it will be the usual turn out. It will either go one way or the other, very high or lower than normal. I'd like to think the former, but given how utterly st our choices are this year, I suspect it will be the latter.

The number one comment I've heard this time around is "why bother voting? It doesn't change anything."
I think that people have a lower opinion of politicians now than I can ever remember. And after all, why would you vote for anyone if you think they are all rubbish?
Low turnout this time around, methinks.

I like it when I hear this. My gut instinct is that those feckless people who don't vote, would be more likely to vote lib dem/labour/green than conservative if forced to. So them staying away is a benefit to the nation.

I wouldn't say that. As much as I'd like that to go away, it's still very much there like a dark cloud. I'm not sure what the turnout will be but I suspect there will be a massive shift in where people normally vote. Die hard Labour supporters moving towards the smaller parties or Tory with their stance on Brexit and the fact they won't vote for a party with Corbyn at the helm. Remainers who would never vote Lib Dem leaning that way because of their stance over the EU. It really has become a vote about one issue rather than who everyone thinks will do the best all round job of running the country.

I have spoken to a lot of people who aren't going to vote or are going to spoil their vote just because they are so sick of the toxic political environment in the UK right now. Interesting times ahead.

That's ridiculous.

I've never seen a greater contrast in options before in my lifetime.
A clear choice between capitalism and socialism AND a clear divide on whether Brexit will happen or will not happen.

And they'll have their results on the Wednesday too. Who says Labour local authorities aren't run efficiently ?

Socialism? Who’s offering that?

I think BF is right. Public opinion of parliament and politicians is at rock bottom, quite rightly after the disgraceful antics of the past 3.5 years.

What’s the point of voting when your re-elected representatives don’t carry out the publics wishes in any case?

Many who I’ve spoken with are only voting out of some sense of responsibility or simply to keep out Corbyn, not because they have any respect for, or desire to have in power, anyone else.

I think Brexit being the number one issue will increase the turnout, it'll still be within a couple of percent of 70 though.

Yes I think you're right, but I'm referring to people who wouldn't dream of going on a forum about politics. Those people have been completely turned off politics - I think the Brexit delay is a big part of this - and have decided they "they all lie, all break their promises, and only care about themselves." They don't see the choices to which you correctly refer. They are completely fed up with politicians.

Oh, and I have never met anyone who has been polled or has been canvassed.

100% CANNOT BE ARSED ........massive Tory stronghold in my constituency so with no PR it doesn't matter.

It'll be cold and/or wet and/or miserable, dark, crappy commuting time of year, general apathy etc etc, I think a low turnout.

Low.

Small Tory majority, BJ to carry on as normal trying to get a deal passed for Brexit

I live in a Labour stronghold, I don't bother voting normally, I would put money on Labour winning my seat again this time too, so I don't see what difference I can make by 'wasting' my vote voting for someone else.
