Lots of potential causes but my first suspicions would be an alarm/immobiliser problem or a stuck starter motor.

There could be a starter relay in the main engine bay fuse-box, numbered as R10 on the lid?

Is there a starter relay and if so does it click when you go for crank?

Is the vehicle auto or manual?

Take it that you've listened at the fuse-box with it's lid removed?

If there is a starter relay (I think there is one), it needs to be found and checked.

If the relay is ok its circuit will need checking

I have a 2008 2.5 Petrol with Keyless Start Button
Do you have to press the Clutch in to start? I do on mine.

I have the Service Manual and Wiring Diagram if of any use?
