Without knowing what I know now...

No point dwelling in the past.. however, financially, I would have kept the flat that I sold when buying a house. Almost did, but didn't.. it would be paying for itself now.

There are lots of things i’d do differently, mostly involving women but:
Start at age 10
Listen to my gut instincts about so called mates
Never start smoking
Never start drinking
Learn to accept what i have and stop chasing the impossible
Learn that not everyone with a smile is friendly

This. My wife (then girlfriend) had a flat in Chiswick that we sold in 1998 to buy a house on the coast. We could have kept the flat and rented it out whilst buying the house off my salary but none of our parents gave us that advice and we were to naive to think of it ourselves.

I'm pretty happy with my lot and most decisions either directly or otherwise led me to where I am today.

For me there’s too many variables as to when the ‘butterfly effect’ would kick in.
Sure, I could’ve gone to uni, invested in property earlier, kept my green bezel sub, bought that golf rallye/964 etc.. but any of those things could’ve affected me having the exact kids I do. Okay maybe I’d have had different kids and thought the same about them, but I don’t!
Therefore any changes in my life would have to be things over the past 4 years and I reckon so far my decision making is going pretty damn well.
I’m absolutely fine with the life I have, I could have more ‘stuff’, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
