I’ve got quite a few ZEP1 LEDs in the house, the oldest are 4-5 years old and one has failed now. Swapped it out to confirm it’s the lamp not the driver.

Are these repairable, and is that economic? They’re north of £50 a pop to buy new I believe. I bought mine via Guy on here with the PH discount but I’ve mailed him and got no response so I guess he’s moved on now. I’ll stump up for a new one if it can be fixed, although annoyingly I can’t remember which colour temp these ones are.

You need the returns email address
They've a long winded process to give you a returns reference .... I had to chase a few times!
The units themselves are out of warranty, but they can check them and let you know how much they would be to repair.
I had to send some up/down lighters back, which were already replacements from prior purchases, about 18 months before... The warranty dates back to the original purchase date, not the replacement date... Odd.
However, they were replaced FOC.

Thanks - Is that who Ecoled are these days? I searched the website but haven't seen anything about repairs yet - are they a company who can repair?

Thanks - does the above apply to Ecoled? I can't remember the name of the company I bought them from via Guy, whether it was called Ecoled or something else?

I’ve had a few fail and I can’t fault ecoled’s returns. Each time I’ve sent back and they’ve replaced straight away. The only exception was some lights that they don’t make any more but they managed to find a way of replacing the light and also the diffuser (that’s the best way I can describe) to match what I have.

I've got 4 or 5 unused that were bought around 5 years ago so might be the same... do yours have a model number on them?

I can dig mine out tomorrow if needed!

Called PHOS this morning and spoke to Guy, all good there, he was tied up all last week which was why I hadn't heard from him. Seems my lights are still under warranty, which I hadn't realised, so I'll pop it back over to them for repair.

Thanks all for your help on this.

Sorry for the tardy reply Cappo. I spent last week literally under a table, wiring up Gingerbread City which we have sponsored this year.

Indeed, Ecoled is no more. Same company but that name was a legacy of our more humble beginnings in the energy saving market. Over the last several years we have steadily headed up-market to become a more bespoke premium architectural lighting manufacturer and as such, wanted to change the way we present ourselves to the market which lead to the re-launch as PHOS in September. We won our first serious award last week too which is nicely timed!

I am still here and available for architectural lighting & design advice to any that need.

Just dug out a load of Zep1 s that I had lying around. Was looking to fit them but found that the black ones are ok but the silver ones flash. Anyone know if this is a fault or if I need a different driver. I have tried about 5 silver units so far and they all flash.

In the very depths of my memory, I seem to recall that the different ZEP lights needed different drivers, i.e. one needs a more powerful driver than the other. I can't be more helpful than that, sorry, but if Guy is still involved I'm sure he'll advise - maybe try contacting him at Phos (details above).

I also seem to remember they need a specific type of driver also, apologies I only ended up with a few in the new house (couldn’t afford them this time around everywhere like the last one it was a lot bigger) so I don’t remember.

I do remember I managed to source a working driver from TLCs locally after I lost one and it’s been happily lighting our bathroom since. So all is not lost hopefully as you’d be able to buy one driver and try it.

Ofc if guy isn’t under a different table wiring some other award winning outfit I’m sure he’ll get back
