£3k max budget - need reliable runner

Hi guys,

Looking to get a daily runner that is reliable to run for around 6 months. Mainly for city driving, stop/start. Have a max budget of £3k but the cheaper it is the better. Not expecting top grade looks, but need it to look decent at least and not fall into the 'shed' territory. Must be 4 door as well.

Any ideas appreciated.

£300 tax ??

What's wrong with £300 tax? He'll be paying £165 if he only wants to keep 6 months, if he does keep any of them longer £300 a year tax isn't a significant number to pay for a good reliable car.

I agree entirely, tax is often a red herring. As an aside, and I know you have experience, but you're very good at this 'what car' stuff.
