My bank don't seem to be able to give me a very straight answer on this one so I thought I would put it out to the PH Business Gurus!
Many of our clients are now on 30 day payment terms, which unfortunately means that come month end we spend a lot of time chasing payments. I am looking into changing our terms to take an automatic payment on the due date each month. I know this can be done as many of our suppliers operate this way! Does anyone know what the process is for this? As the amounts vary on a monthly basis it would need some form of manual input but will save us a lot of time in hammering various account departments.

I wouldn't bother talking to your bank - banks seem to be in a very old-fashioned place with payment technology at the moment...
