You can't really knock him - coming from an age of space launches where basically the entire stack is lost what Musk has done is the stuff of science fiction - it's absolutely marvelous.
I'll never forget that first Falcon 9 Heavy launch where the two boosters came back as tiny dots, the twin sonic booms and the graceful simultaneous landing.
The guy is a master showman, that's for sure.
