Audi A4 Avant 2009 2 litre petrol servicing question
Discussion
I've just purchased an Audi A4 Avant 2009 2 litre petrol.
The car has a main dealer service history to 60K and one after at 77K by a local garage but is now on 103K with services between then and now having apparently been done by the owner, he provided receipts for oil/filters etc with the last oil change being in October 2019, along with other receipts for brakes etc. He also showed me on the car that it says the next oil change is not due for 6K miles and the next major service for 12K, but maybe these can be reset by the owner(?)
The car had the piston rings changed at 65K by the main dealer, so that should be fine. It was also stage 1 mapped in 2018.
My question (being new to Audi ownership), should I get a full service or minor service and are their any benefits to the Audi main dealer for a car of this age or will my local garage (who I know and trust) be fine? Anything else I should get done?
One final thing, the car had a Monitor and Repair on the last MOT of 'Steering system slightly rough (2.1.1 (a))' I asked him about this and he said it had been fixed and he had a few receipts for work on the steering/suspension however it wasn't until I got back home that I realised that the work was carried out BEFORE it was noted on the MOT! I know a stupid error on my part as I should have checked the date, so I'm hoping that nothing major is wrong.
On the plus side the car drove fine on the test drive and on the way home (90 miles) and I got it for a good price.
