718 GT4/Spyder exhaust modes
Discussion
hi all, I have seen a few aftermarkets exhaust being launched and delivery around mid January as well. For example, the JCR titanium exhaust that saves 10kg over the stock while keeping the valve open/close option in the car. I wonder what others think of the products that are available and how good value for money are they? ie. the JCR one is 3.5k +VAT.
You don't invalidate the manufacturer warranty.
It's only an issue when it comes to the extended warranty, and for the occasional OPC visit, you could swap between systems.
I agree it's a lot of money though. It would be interesting to how much of a difference in price stainless would make, versus the titanium (and how it impacts noise as well). I remember buying the track pipe from Sharkwerks for my 997 GT3; it was literally a straight through pipe and it was almost £2k I believe. The same pipe fits the 991 as well, so development costs halved!
Of course, the advantage of buying a high quality, high demand product though is that you are of course not spending £3,500, you are spending the depreciation - you could probably sell it on for a decent amount if needed.

An update. The JCR exhaust is out and sounds... OK. Nothing like as dramatic as the GT3s.
BUT
They say a version which deletes the OPF is coming in the New Year and WON'T require any ECU tune.
Getting the GT4 on Saturday so will see what it's like!
Hey great news keep us posted looking at a pipe change. If any gets videos please post ?BUT
