Looking to get a 2015 one of these with the 1.6 167bhp engine. Had a look at one the other day and took it for a test drive, problem was the road was littered with speed cameras (40mph!) and the weather was atrocious so I didn't get a proper feel for the engine performance.

I previously had a 2012 116i, same engine (I believe) but with 136bhp and it was quite nippy but I want something with a little more oomph if possible.

Anyone able to provide any first hand experience please before I make a purchase?

Thanks.

Just picked this up, it's an M Sport version and I assumed it would have parking sensors (not a camera but the beeping) but no noises when I reverse up close to anything.

Overall I'm really pleased with it but would have expected parking sensors as standard on an m sport, am I wrong?

That does seem strange - even my 2004 E46 320td SE had them on the rear.

Have a look at the rear bumper, you should be able to see 4 little round " dimples" in the trim strip on the bumper if it has them - like in the photo below of my 123d.

I believe they can be coded to be permanently off, so if you have the "dimples" but they weren't working properly perhaps someone has had them coded out. If so, and you bought from a dealer, take it back and ask for them to be fixed!

Or if it doesn't have the "dimples" maybe it's had a new rear bumper from a car that didn't have parking sensors.

To find out for sure if your car had them try putting the last 7 characters (2 letters, 5 digits) of the VIN into a decoder site like this:-

On my 335d, you can use iDrive to raise or lower the volume of the parking sensor. Check that you can adjust that in ‘My vehicle’ ‘iDrive settings’ ‘sound’ ‘volume settings’ ‘PDC’ and check the slider setting value.

Was an option ( £255) on M sport models

Parking sensors were an option on the f20/21 1 series until late on in production. It wasn’t even standard on m135’s.

Wow - it looks like I was spoilt on my 57 plate 123dSE "Dynamic" in that case, given that it had them on the front as well!

Thanks for all the responses, I've checked, nothing in the menus and nothing on the rear bumper and now I have it confirmed from you guys that it was in fact an option, I can confirm it's an option this car doesn't have!

Bit of a bummer cos I do find them useful, however I have been driving for longer without them than with so I'm sure I'll survive!

Please with the car though, anyone had one mapped?
