Why don't we get paid to grass someone up?

Just wondered really, you would have thought it would help - a lot.
Lets take the obvious, someone has a weed farm on the go. You could be of the opinion that it's none of your business and walk on by.
If someone offered you £1k to inform anonymously then it would change many peoples minds.
There must be thousands of people who know that major or minor crimes are being committed, but say nothing as it doesn't effect them or they cba.
Think how many Police hours it would save and Crims taken off the street.

Back in the day an informer or a 'snout' (Cockney) would get a few quid, i remember that from The Bill on TV. I don't know how official it was though.

And China. So much so that I understand there are 'professionals' out there who drive like t
ts making you do something illegal to get out of the way. Get your actions on film, send to government and get a payout as a result.Its a slippery slope.
Just been out for a walk, only about a mile. Almost every other car had the driver on their mobile. I could have taken two pics, one of the driver and the other of their reg number. I would be happy to take 10% of the fine.
When most of these cars and van were newish and I presume had blue tooth why do people still risk a fine and points (and an accident) by holding their phones?

This is something I noticed too. I was waiting outside a court of all places for about 30 minutes, loads of nice cars that solicitors etc typically drive, almost all with the driver holding a mobile phone. If they pay me 50% of the fine I'll invest in a camera and work for 1 hour a day and have a very comfortable income. I don’t know of any parking ticket based reward systems but I do know of a couple others that can be more lucrative. Take this one for example,

And, the fines are based on the revenue a company received by their corrupt actions. If the company had not financially benefited then there would be no massive fine.
