Engine Heat Shield Question
Discussion
Can anyone tell me where I can get some heat shielding for my engine bay. The factory fitted shielding has a nice tidy rounded edge to it and I’d like to try and fit something similar.
I’ve seen the products that Demon Tweaks do and they will be OK but I was just looking to go the extra mile and make it a bit neater.

I did mine a couple of months back, and it folds very neatly, I used about a 10mm fold over with 'V' cuts in the folded edge where necessary, particularly around the tight radius of the clutch cover etc. Rolled the finished edge with a bottle to get a tight fold without crushing the fabric pattern, once the adhesive had grabbed.
I got no splits or tears in the metalised surface, which is fairly durable. The result looks pretty close to original, pop rivet back with spreader washers.
Must say, would have been far easier to do with an empty bay.

Has anyone done the underside of the bonnet nearest the edges. The current blankets covers the bulk of the area on the middle but not around the edges.
Jujst had respray and bubbles are appearing on the outer edges.
Assume this stuff should sort the problem. I'm concerned as it will be a thin strip down either edge and the leading eadge of the bonnet.

Also has anyone used the cool tube? May help the wiring that sits above and around the engine/manifold area.

Hi, FFG. Yeah, have tried it! Obviously still on car, no real diff apparent but it must help a little bit, eh? soz can`t give you any more "helpful/useful" info!
Not too pricey, either. Go try.
Dave.
