Obviously an Mx5. I use mine as a winter track car and it’s huge fun.

Has to be an MX-5, dirt cheap to run and consumables, tons of them.being broken when you need parts after track incidents.

Seems a no brainer

"...until mechancial failure stopped play in the afternoon" - happy to spend a bit more, but still not bad for the money. I'm guessing it's going to require some work to keep this one going?

Fair point....in Lionels defence, I cross threaded a spark plug, so entirely my fault.
