Evening all.

I'm usually pretty good with this stuff but i can't sort this out and it's driing me insane. I think the telly has an issue with it's wifi card / general network.

I don't have the ability to hard wire it at this point.

The facts:

- I have an LG smart TV that's about 3 and a bit years old.
- I have Sky broadband and all sky hardware.
- At time of writing i have 17 devices conneted to Wifi and 3 connected to ethernet
- everything else that is connected to it is working fine
- Router is serving both 2.5 and 5GHZ frequencies
- Router is serving both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, some devices have both addresses

Steps taken on telly:

- Reset to factory
- Bounced wifi network
- it can see the network but when i enter the password it simply says it can't connect. The password is correct
- WPS doesn't work.

Oddities:

- The TV will only see one wifi network and it's the one i need.
- It is not picking up any other wifi networks from the neighbours
- It is not picking up anoter wifi network i have in the house (this was an old config that is a powerline adaptor i only use for CCTV)
- If i create a wifi hotspot on any of the phones or tablets, the TV will not see them even though they are in the same room

I'm now leaning towards the TV having a fault but thought i'd post something here to see if anyone had experienced the same. There are another 3 TV's in the house and all are connected fine, they are all Samsung.

Thanks for reading!

I managed to get it to work ages ago and it enabled me to do a software update.

Try turning off everything that connects to the Wifi.

Try and connect the TV.

If it does go to your PC/Laptop and go to your Sky router settings http://192.168.0.1/

Then go to Advanced then Lan IP Setup and look at the Address Reservation section and click on add, it will now show a list of attached devices, there should be only one and copy the MAC, name and current IP of that device into the fields below "Reserve An IP Address" and then click Add.

Then start up any other Wifi devices and make sure they connect and the LG stays connected. It is possible the TV is being bumped off by another connecting via the same IP, of course you might get something else not connect in which case you need to do more IP assigning.

(Sky menu system may be a different one but usually similar method)

I'll have a look but would like to think that DHCP would prevent that. But it's far from the most robust router!

As a test, can you disable wifi security on the router, and if so, will it connect then?
