Obviously they are brilliant but I struggle to see what the tories will do for all these forgotten working class areas the have won.
There is a reason there are no jobs as the dying industries have closed or moved away.
Successive governments have plonked a lot of new people into these areas to get some sort of economic activity going
but due to the dishonesty of not explaining why this has just been met with hostility.
When their 5 years are up they will be asked what they did and I expect they will reply we got you out of europe like you asked.
The rest was up to you.
Will probably work if they can find someone to blame which looking at the lies this time should be easy.
Of course being lazy they could just copy some ideas from labours manifesto.

What they will do for the North, especially here in the North East rhymes with Duck Hall.

If Boris ever visits Redcar, after wiping his feet on the way out and giving his hands a good wash, he’ll be laughing his tits off thinking how the f*ck have we got these to vote for us.

There is another thread but haven't you seen The Northern Powerhouse created by George Osborne ?
The North will be rewarded with empty promises.
In other words it's business as usual for The Tories ...

Come on now, Manchester received a rusty rail bridge to cause even more congestion in Castlefield.

Was the Northern Powerhouse ever anything more than a top-down Osborne vanity project that looked good on Powerpoint slides?

Okay, I’m convinced, I get withdrawal symptoms at the top end
of Holloway Road and worry that I’ve not got my passport laugh

From what I can see it was nothing more than a vague concept designed to encourage property investors to target the North and inflate house prices (which it has done) without actually producing any other wider economic or productive growth.

I am amused by the deluded labour voters that think the North East is ok.

A lot of it is a crime infested cesspit. Then there is the workforce which has been hoodwinked into unskilled employment that if rife for automation.

The conservatives need to deal with it by dealing with the issues that stop people investing:

- crime
- skills
- respect
- infrastructure

Unfortunately with labour dominated councils it’s going to be an uphill battle to overcome the engrained need, want and vileness.

As above... We're fine up here... Yes its a bit cold and rainy in Lancashire, but even Greta can't claim thats the fault of the government surely.... You lot down south keep fretting about about Abbots 2 left shoes and stuff, and we'll just keep churning out things you never realised existed.....
