Hahaha! so, begs the question, what’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever done in a car?

I once bought a nice shiny chrome gear knob, which reflected the sun onto my sun visor and burnt a hole in it!
Could have set the whole car alight!

Rather begs the question of why he needed so much air freshener.

Rather not think about it too deeply.

I wonder if he used one of these, and I have to admit the bearded loony with the air freshener and lighter is me. It did warm the workshop up and it smelled lovely afterwards!

Jesus....how much air freshener did he soak the car with?

At what point did he think lighting a cigarette after spraying loads of aerosol in his car was a good idea? Doesn't sound like the brightest spark...

Shouldn’t the freshener be sprayed AFTER the big fat spliff has been smoked??

I don't understand the bodywork damage if that was from an explosion within the car. It just doesn't look right to me.

Perhaps an implosion that broke the windows rather than an explosion - hence sucking all the body panels in too? Then once it's contracted an explosion which shatters the windows.

Of course we don't know what the bodywork was like before the explosion.

I threw a fag out of my window once, which came back in through the open rear window and set the seat on fire.

Had the same thing before. I knew it had flown back in but couldn't see it, nearly crashed trying to! Fifty pence sized burn!! Helped me stop smoking in a way as I never smoked in the car afterwards and finally gave up!

By looks of it he'd already rolled it.

I'm slightly skeptical about this whole story!

100% there is more to the story than that! Air freshner doesn't blow shop windows out FFS.

We used to burn huge tins of hair spray for a laugh (council) when we were kids, thrown them on fires etc, the odd pop and bang but never any real force behind it.

I had the ashtray catch fire in a Mk2 Escort. It was full to overflowing. I wound down the window to get rid of the smoke and this fanned the flames. I wound the window back up, the car filled with smoke, then things got a bit confused and I ended up in a ditch. The fire went out shortly afterwards.

It was an aerosol air freshener and they use butane as a propellant. In an enclosed space it doesn't take much to do some damage
