As most readers on here realiase, i am not the sharpest knife in the box when it comes to Computers. and ( you know who you are) have gone beyond the call of duty to assit me.
I am now throwing myself back into the dark world of cabling for a bit of help
Have a Sony Digital 8 camcorder TRV 120 ( about 1995 vintage) which also plays standard and hi 8 tapes.
Years ago i had pinnacle studio 10 with a dedicated card on the PC and got the Camcorder converted to take DV in as well so all the tapes have be from Camcorder to Studio and edited then back onto the Camcorder
I now had gone modern! with a Sony DV camcorder and am now editing all the DV stuff onto DVD via Studio 20
BUT i want to connect the D8 to get the tape stuff to DVD
I have a pinnacle dazzle gubbins! with the following connections 2.x RCA
marked L and R audio
S-video socket and 1 X RCA video and a lead with USB connection
The camcorder has a S-video socket
audio/video 3.5mm socket
DV in/out (Firewire) socket
laptop has HDMI socket and USB sockets
What is the best way, and cabling, of getting the taped video onto the laptop for editing? Once there i can transfer to DVD
I have a s-vid to s-vid cable ,camcorder to dazzle, and a 3.5mm jack to 2 X RCA ( from the camcorder audio/video socket to the L+R connectors on the Dazzle Will this work or do i need a firewire to HDMI cable ( if there is one)
