As the title suggests, I'm off to look at an E70 X5 tomorrow some distance from home and the seller reckons it's got quite a lot of options on it value wise, however, from what I can find online brochure wise from when it was new, the costs don't tally with the stated options - I can maybe account for around £3500 but the seller claims nearly £8k?

It has Pro Nav and the Dynamic Pack but these are circa £2k and £1.4k. There are no other big ticket items that can be seen, and if it has some of the driving items that were available on the E60 5 series like cornering lights and active rollbars, I really don't want the car as I've read the parts are either unobtainable or horrific money to replace.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The VIN is - WBAFF02050LJ11015 and I have tried every online VIN Decoder I can find but none are working for me or just bring up basic vehicle info.

Thanks.

Have you tried ringing a dealer?

A BMW main dealer would be the best port of call I'd think

Honestly, no, because I could do without the frustrations of being told they can't tell me due to not yet owning the car, data protection or the national secrets act and this late in the day I could phone a dozen dealers before I find one that would be willing to, by which time they'd be closed biggrin

Only way to really know is to go and see it. You might be lucky and buy 2 cars in one..

If you're trying to avoid certain options why not ask the seller if it has them? I assume there's no original build sheet with the car?

Decoded mine, no issues. Your VIN number isn't recognised for some reason, are you sure it's right?

That's using mdecoder.com FYI

Strange - RealOEM recognises it (build date 01/2008) but the VIN decoders don't.

Why not post the question in the 'ask a salesman anything' thread... might be a BMW person in there!

That's the problem I've had.

Definitely the correct VIN as I've HPI'd it from it and everything tallies up.

I've tried a few of the usual sites to decode a VIN and they all seem to be "having problems" or are "undergoing maintenance" tonight, which may have been the same problem yesterday.

I did finally get mine to work on "mdecoder", but I just tried yours with no joy sadly.
