As above, looking for something larger than Clio, driving fun is the most important aspect and 2006 on to be Euro 4 compliant???

TIA

If a fun drive is the main priority is the main criteria then it has to be the:

Megane RS250 with the Cup Chassis

A step down chassis wise but with a sweeter engine is the 2.5T Focus in ST-3 spec:

I'd be looking for a BMW 130i.

Not Euro 6 (and I doubt the other suggestions are either), but ULEZ exempt - IIRC it's only diesels that need to be Euro 6 to avoid the ULEZ.

He means ULEZ compliant, apart from the six ot a 130i can't hold a candle to a Megane RS/ST when it comes to fun & driver interaction (notchy gearbox for starters) but they're a good mini GT until you add some M3 parts.

I test drove all of them from this era and ended up with a focus ST

I’m not a Renault fan but it has to be the Megane if you were happy with the Clio.
I had the use of a 2003 Clio 172 for 6 months and it was a lot of fun.
