As above, traces of anabolic steroids. Wonder how long he'll be banned for!

Think that's the end of his MotoGP career then.

I can see Bradley Smith stepping back into racing the Aprilia now.

I know they're a "performance enhancing substance" for a lot of sports, but given the huge risk, I wonder why you'd do it in a motorsport setting.

I wonder if it's something tragic like him trying to accelerate recovery from an injury rather than rampant abuse.

Then again who knows.

I doubt many will be shocked by this, so many reminders of Gobert in this kid, all the talent in the world but for some reason can't nail it down.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was for cosmetic reasons with him. He's had jaw surgery to improve his looks.

Yeah, it's bizarre how often the phrase "animal lover" in my online profile makes women think I'm interested in their pets...

hehe

I used to be into bestiality, necrophilia and flagellation but after so long it just felt like I was flogging a dead horse...

Will probably be disqualified from this years results. Cant see why it would affect next year. Its not the olympics.
There are many reasons to be perscribed steroids. Maybe he has a rash.

The guys in moto GP are all pretty much athletes, e.g. Crutchlow trains with Cavendish and is described by him as almost pro level, Marquez etc all openly train to athlete level, recent interviews with Redding have him emphasising just how much fitness and weight plays a role at that level when tenths matter.

Steroids could offer a real and measurable benefit to someone at this level in terms of endurance and strength - Some have been making the point that if riders were tested more often this might not have been the first person caught.....

Topical steroids for a rash would not typically appear as anabolic steroids on a routine drug screen.

It's one of those situations though, if you don't come out immediately with a careful justification or explanation, you get fked as you create a media vaccuum which fills with speculation.

I've very wary of "no smoke without fire" but personally, if I was innocent, I'd of been straight on a social media platform explaining there was a private underlying medical condition (or whatever) which I'd failed to declare ahead of the screening.

That said, I think the penalty "a max ban of four years", suggests there's a bit of leeway and that seems reasonable.

Interesting stuff, I'm very curious to see how it goes actually.

Not steroids I know, but Nori Haga got caught for using "a traditional weight loss supplement" (i.e. ephedrine) to get his chubby ass in shape.

Anthony Gobert was also binned after testing positive for dope; hardly performance enhancing...

hehe

I know. He must be on something.
