Buying lease car
Discussion
Hi. I am leasing a 67 plate leon and am at the end of my 24 month lease with Hitachi. I am happy with the car and asked for a quote to purchase. The quote of £12,300 is a more than what I can see similar cars online for (by about £1k), but there is a trade off of knowing the car history, not having to travel to get a similar model, not paying for any scrapes and scuffs on my current car etc. Does anyone have experience of this/know if you can haggle with them? I know they won't sell direct to me but my partner can buy it as an unrelated party I think. Thanks

I purchased my last company car from Hitachi for my FIL, Audi A5 SLine TDI on a 64 plate (2 years ago) with 85k on the clock, had just had a major service at Audi for £700 the week before and they quoted me £14.5k, I kept haggling and got it for £13.7k in the end.My current personal lease is with them and can honestly say they are great, have extended my car at current rate with more miles, had several company cars with them and never quibbled on tyres or servicing, my current work car is leaseplan and so far don't seem as flexible, tyres have to be Goodyear where Hitachi I chose every time, ran Michelin PS4's on a 136bhp TDI
