Car lease expires 9 January 2020 and, to date, have had no correspondence from VWFS regarding return of vehicle.

Called VWFS and their automated system put me through to BCA and have now scheduled collection.

BCA have sent me an e-mail confirming my booking but noticed the below point regarding the V5 in their collection checklist.

I don't recall getting the V5 with the vehicle and believe this is normally held by the lease company.

Does this sound right? Am I OK to ignore this requirement?

If you have never had it then you can't return it.

Is the form a kind of generic one? Are there other items on the list such as spare wheel or nav disc that may also be not applicable to certain cases?

We returned a vehicle to VWFS via BCA that was leased. No question about V5, we never had it... if you are leasing you never had it either and I am about to receive another vehicle through VWFS and not expecting the V5 this time.

Vehicle is on a PCH.

The checklist does seem to be generic - see below.

Appreciate the replies - will take on board suggestions.

Also, VWFS have taken the final lease payment - should I cancel my bank direct debit now or will it still be needed for any deductions that arise once the vehicle is inspected?

Personally, I cancel the direct debit at the end of a lease so that if any condition-related charges are made, I can ensure I battle them before the money is paid.

My VWFS Seat Leon is being collected on Friday. Had same generic communication from VWFS/BCA about V5 and MOT etc

In terms of direct debits. Last payment was taken 21/11/19. Direct debit cancelled 22/11/19 so they cant just take any money out in charges.

The one thing that did irk me a little bit was that the date for contract ending is the date that the vehicle was registered and not the date of collection. I collected mine on 3/1/19 due to the fleet bloke being off at Xmas/New Year but lose that extra few days when it is collected. Slight irritation but im £300 a month better of and using public transport till i find another shed
