Junk mail definitions
Discussion
Hi, I've created some HTML newsletter emails which I will start sending a list of clients. Right now I am in the testing phase and I am having some problems with Outlook throwing them straight into the Junk Email folder. I have sent this HTML email to a colleague I am in contact wiht everyday and even though I am in his list of contacts the email gets marked as Junk.
Is there some kind of rule Outlook follows for mail? i.e. if an email is HTML and of this size, with this percentage of pictures, then class it as junk

Toughie really although I guess there's more to be found within the Office resource kit. You might search on office.microsoft.com or in the msdn bit of the microsoft website.
All I know is that when I visit the office update website I've seen update files for the junk mail filter.
That might lead down the right road. Maybe?

I had a look in the filters.txt file which is where all terms you want to Junk are kept. As you'd expect they were all things like 'free $' 'money back' 'satifsction guaranteed' but there was nothing in there which we used as content in the email.
We have been testing it for a day now and are stumped. We've been sending multiple other HTML emails around and the only one which gets canned is ours.

What happens if you retain all your HTML formatting but alter the content - or lose the content. Alternatively lose all the HTML and send plain text.
THis will eliminate if it's actual content triggering the filter or if it's the HTML code that's doing it.
If it's the code then you have a starting point - keep halving it until you find the bit responsible.
