Got 12k to spend on a car for the wife, ideally something not to massive in size like an S8 but maybe C63 or RS4 perhaps.

Only requirement from the wife is DAB & cupholders. Doesn't have to be an estate as we have a workhorse car but would be nice to have something of a good size. 4 door ideal but could like with 2 for a bit

Any other suggestions people may have?

MB CL63 AMG. At that budget its a pre-facelift with that legendary engine, but an auto.

Been looking at them myself, quite tempted.

XKR or XFR if more doors/usable seats are required.

Cheers,

VXR8 and add aftermarket DAB.

Great car/engine and something different to the norm.

XFR has DAB and a sound system she will really appreciate.

What's reliability of the XFR like?

I like VXR8 and didn't consider the RS6 but I'd save an extra few months to bring budget up to that level.

I've also seen a few C63 AMG estates which quite tickle my fancy, or a CLS. I might need to go 5 door instead of as with a car like this is rather not have to swap for a family car next year, 2 birds and all that

Checkout the boot space on a VXR8 before saying you want to go for an estate.

Been browsing today and saw a nice RS4 or a Maserati 4200, either end of the spectrum.

I think I may go 2 door and possible an M3 & worry about the family side of thing later on as I could always take it off the Mrs biggrin
