Good quality projector on a budget.

Looking to replace our 4year old rubbish Chinese pj with something that actually works well.
Budget £300-£500.
Don’t mind second hand.
Room is relatively small. Will be sat roughly 3 metres from screen and the projector will go behind our heads so can’t be to noisy.
Also up for a short throw pj if can get a decent one.

Any suggestions?
Also any good av forums to look at second hand?

Have a look at Optoma DLP projectors. Amazingly cinematic pictures and easily below £500 now. 1080p mind you, but I'll be they do a 4k option close to that price now.

I have an HD131XE - showing at 135" and still amazing at 1080p. £300 on ebay. Have a look what model replaced it too.
