Ted

I am sure I cannot be the first person to tell you this, but this bloody pop-up advert is seriously getting on my nerves. I am fed up with closing it down all the time. It would be marginally less annoying if once it had been closed down once it went away but it keeps coming back!

If they want to advertise why can't they have a normal ad like everyone else?

Thanks

Do you mean the Dunlop advert?

You should only get it once in a blue moon unless you've disabled cookies etc.

It's the "Win the life of a racing driver" one. I've got pop-ups blocked, but it comes up everytime I go to the home page.
Whats this about Cookies?

In order to limit the number of times that an advert is shown to you, the ad server puts a cookie on your PC. Then next time it considers showing an ad, it looks for that cookie. If it's recent then it won't show the advert again.

If however, you've got your system set up to block cookies from certain sites (often referred to as blocking 3rd party cookies) then it might show you the advert many times.

If you enjoy what PH has become from such tiny beginnings then you'll appreciate that we can all have more fun still if we can grow the site and faclities further.

Just out of interest Ted, what exciting new developments have you got in store for PH in the future.

The classifieds section is getting a makeover currently and is now taking feeds from some stock systems giving us more sports cars for your browsing.

A new version of the Gassing Station is in the final stages of development which will have some sexy features and allow for plenty more goodies going forwards.

I've been able to increase the editorial budget over the last 18 months to both allow the appointment of Manek as the editor and to source more articles from writers around the world.

More stuff in the pipeline but best not to promise too much as it can take me a long time to polish off some of the features I'm working on.

Excellent, I like sexy features

If you are looking for writers from around the world to contribute articles, I know this guy in the middle east who would happily contribute for free
