Buying a car with insurance marker
Discussion
Hi, looking in the 6-7k price range for a replacement for my daily and seeing a lot of cat n and cat s marked cars. Never had one before and not sure if they should be avoided?? Looking at prices, they seem to be 25-30 percent cheaper than similar cars, is this about right or should they be even cheaper? Are there any other issues such as insurance ? I assume I should look for evidence of the repair etc etc.? Thanks
At that sort of budget I think I'd avoid cars with a marker, unless you plan to keep it until it dies. Otherwise selling it could be a problem.
I wouldn't worry about a marker on a cheaper car if it happened fairly recently - even pretty superficial damage can make a £2K car uneconomic to repair!
