Brief history:

Skoda fabia mk1 vrs, for our use just a great car, shame it was getting on and we thought wed sell it before any major bills bought at 80k and sold at 135k apart from normal consumables it had an alternator go and that was it!

Bought a 62 plate Peugeot 308 diesel as a economical car for the wife we soon realised what a mistake we had made! Slow, poor to drive, uncomfortable and pretty ugly! Cheap to run though!

So wanted something with the performance of the skoda but the size of the 308, looked at plenty of cars including astras, focus, saab 93, golfs and many more.

Ended up with this from another PH'er

It's the 2.0 litre diesel, 46,000 miles, in great condition, just the normal wheel marks and a small scuff on the front bumper!

Decent performance, good fuel economy and a really refined place to spend time! So far so good!

Very nice thumbup
I had a 170bhp petrol Giulietta it was a really good car with zero issues of any sort for the 50k miles I had it.

Still think the’s look great to say its a 10 year old design now. Madness they still sell it as a new model but quite good for second hand owners I guess, owning a 10 year old current generation car hehe!

My ex had the 1.6 version, that felt fairly pokey so the 2.0 must be ace. Watch for the wire between the main car body and boot starting to split. Opening the boot acts like a concertina on the wiring and ends up eventually cutting it leading to all sorts of problems.

Very nice. My wife has a 65 plate QV with 52,000 miles. Apart from a new gearbox replaced under warranty, it has been perfect. Fast and fun, great cars, I am sure you will enjoy yours.

Let's hope it will be reliable, the wife will be putting 400 miles a week on it so it needs to be!

Will get some more pics once I have cleaned it!
