Advice on a new company car (power vs cost)
Discussion
Hi all,
Firstly, I'm not really a car buff
While I appreciate quality and the finer things in life, as much as the next person, I essentially use my car to get from A-to-B.
My company car (Audi A1 Sport Sportback 1.6D 2012) is up for renewal.
I only drive long distance maybe 5 or 6 times a year - all else is town/city driving. I rarely use my car for actual work miles, so it's just a perk now. Passengers are just my wife and I, and our daughter coming in Feb
I have pretty much decided that I really like the look and sound of the new Ford Puma, but I can't decide whether to go for the 125PS or 155PS version. I want to get the car ordered ASAP (first week in Jan, according to our local dealer), because we will want it for transporting our newborn, but there won't be any to test drive until late January.
I was just wondering, what people's thoughts were regarding this choice? Do you think (I realise this is a personal and subjective question), that the difference between 125PS and 155PS is really going to make much difference? Would you consider it worth the extra in tax?
Originally, I thought a 1 litre would be under-powered for a bigger car (compared to my Audi), but most people I've spoken to (in the trade) say the EcoBoost is great and will be sufficient.
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks!

I drove some time ago now a Focus with the 1 litre Ecoboost engine which I think was 120ish bhp? and I felt it underpowered if I'm honest, but then if your not fussed for performance it's perfectly adequate. As I don't have a company car I have no idea on the tax implications.
I don't follow the Ford range much anymore but I wonder is it possible to test drive another model in the range such as the Focus with both engines in just to see how you feel about the difference in performance?
