Hello all,

I am looking at buying a used car hopefully next week from a main dealer however I have just noticed via the service records the auto box was serviced late (about 2 years late and about 15kmiles) however the car has still been approved by the manufacturer and comes with a 12 month warranty.
My main worry is I plan to extend this warranty before it expires for at least another year, is this going to cause any issues with the warranty? The dealer assures me because they have approved it, it will be fine if there is an issue.

Other than that the car is good and a great price.

Thanks

A DSG?

The truth is you'll only find out if you have to claim for a faulty gearbox.

Get what the sales person said in writing, and clarify if they'll still stand by this statement for as long as you extend the warranty.

From reading about other peoples experiences on here with "Used approved cars" with problems, many have got no help from the manufacturer is cases of problems. They have pretty much said it's down to the dealer.

I know Ford are very strict on missed services when it comes to warranty claims, and VW try to wriggle in my experience, so I'd say tread carefully.

Thanks Trevor555.

After looking into it more it looks like it is actually fine after all.
The service book for the car I found online was out of date and the online service schedule which the service guys use is want counts which the car is inline with... I have checked.
