Evening all,
My 2010 320D have started vibrating quite a bit while it's idle. I noticed it at traffic lights earlier. It drives completely fine, just when it's stopped with the engine running it starts. Anyone any ideas on what might cause this?

Any issues with the gear box?

Get the prop shaft/donut/bearing checked when you can too.

Could be a duff injector too maybe?

Instead of guessing

Get it checked over, get the codes read and go from there smile

Could be something simple (hopefully) but better to find out sooner rather than later

Yea it's booked into the garage for a service on the 27th so I guess I'll find out then. Just been told it could be spark plug related

Or something far less exciting, the plastic engine covers have a habit of coming loose and making a lot of noise on idle.

Perished engine mount perhaps?

My old 320d had a significant amount of vibration through the gear stick/clutch pedal on idle; as did all the other E90 320ds I drove. The F30 was completely different though; far smoother.

Yea was told that could be the case. Just think it's strange that there's a hell of a vibration but no warning lights on. In my old 1 series if you farted a warning light would pop on

Dual Mass Flywheel (which means a flywheel & clutch replacement at close to a grand) would be my bet. They don't last.

Yea read about that but it drives fine. It's only when it's stationary. The clutch was going in my mates 1 series and it felt conpleatly different to this. Mind you it may be a different system. Still well find out in a couple of days.

If its vibrating from that area it would be the flywheel that's knackered, not the clutch.

Clutch might be ok but it would be daft not to change it at the same time

Ah ok, thought to discount that as the clutch pedel is ok, just the gear stick and wheel, then as soon as you put some revs on or set off driving it stops. Well 27th it's in so I'll let you know what it is then.

Well gents, the garage have just called. It's an injector that's gone. Suppose it's an old car.
