Would an Umbrella company help?

I'm a freelance cameraman, have been for 30 years but things have been quiet so I've taken a staff job, shift work.

I still do a little freelance just to make sure I can cover my bills and actually live.

One of the outside broadcast companies I do a little work for has decided as of 2020, that they'll only engage freelancers who are limited companies.

I reckon I get about £4k of work out of them over the summer.

A senior camera op has just booked me for some summer work but the OB company is this one that insists on Ltd companies.

Is there a way round this? My accountant reckons that I won't pull in enough a year to go Ltd, due to the cost.

Would using an umbrella company be the answer? What percentage would be the fees?

ETA I'm currently a sole trader as far as my self employed status goes.
