Has N,P&E run it’s course?

This is a serious question. I don’t spend much time on this particular PH neighbourhood, but every time I do I’m struck by how hate-filled and angry it is.
A place where a discussion about a knife attack in Crawley prompts a serious question about whether it was by ‘one of our ethnic brethren’. A place where every child grooming story is gleefully leapt on by people who want to make it a story about Islam. A place where multiple criminal Steven Yaxley-Lennon’s many crimes are overlooked and blamed on a media smear campaign. A place where (FFS!) Muslims are accused of ‘building too many mosques and messing up the traffic’.
I could go on - the story about the lesbians attacked on the bus was, firstly, made into ‘serves them right’ before morphing into ‘typical BBC reporting on this instead of the Asian guys beating up blokes off Grindr’.
If I was from Car Gurus I would be seriously worried. I know it’s always tempting to reach for the ‘this place is going to the dogs’, but the level of racism is becoming noticeably more overt.
Hence my serious question - in a world where Breitbart already exists, what’s the point of NP&E???

While the OP has some merit, all those accusations were also refuted by other posters, and very quickly. I definitely haven’t seen a majority in support of Tommeh Stephen though.
I would prefer to leave it as it is, as it is one of the few places where I can witness the more extreme fringes of society in action, but on the whole I don’t see a bias towards the nutjob opinion. The more ridiculous posts seem to be reported and removed.

Please don't, this safe space is needed because everywhere else is woke, broke and a leftist marxist paradise. There have been a few voices doing the usual liberal lark but they're either puppet accounts, returning banned posters or fake news.
If you don't like just stick your fingers in your ears and leave I'm sure it will all go away. Choose to live in you warm fuzzy little bubble of ignorance of others people's opinions.
But when things like referendums don't go the way you thought they should, or people get voted in you don't like. Don't start going it must be the Russians, fake news and so on because you don't have a clue how the rest of society actually thinks.

It's has always been the case that we should never talk politics or religion in polite company. NPE does occasionally demonstrate this adage is wise.
It's this reason why I seldom post in that section but there are times when I can't resist, although I refuse to get embroiled in anything.

I’d guess that there are many posters (and readers) who’ve had their opinions and views changed by reading NP&E threads. Although I don’t post much there have been many occasions where I’ve read something and thought “ok, I hadn’t seen it from that perspective”.
On the whole a balanced view generally comes across and the extreme viewpoints are normally shot down. If you don’t like something someone has written why don’t you engage with them and try and convince them otherwise?
You’ve highlighted racial arguments as being your main area of concern. You do realise that shutting down all debate on the issue just makes the problem worse and results in very normal people taking up viewpoints that you’d probably consider extreme?
