Not another what car post

Been offered a job recently where I will be doing a regular commute around the South of the UK inc central london, Birmingham and as far down as Southampton ever so often.

(Everyday for first few months will be a long journey on motorway such as from Surrey to Birmingham, Margate, Exeter)

I'm looking for a car that is under 5k which has some boot space but doesn't have to be massive. Whilst fun to drive and not be to big that it's difficult to park in central London.

I'm supplied a fuel card and a car allowance which is of average amount for a managerial role.

All suggestions welcome
