Very sad but also odd, 3 from the same family found dead in a hotel pool.

Very sad.
Difficult to understand what could have happened unless it's as simple as all of them being non swimmers. That in itself would be odd.

Yeahh upon reading it, it appears one of them was struggling so 2 jumped in to rescue her and all 3 died, I can understand if it was a river or the sea but not a pool!

Just a bit odd.

If the pump electrics were faulty could the pool have been "live"

Could it be chemical asphyxiation from the products used to keep the pool clean. ?

The Telegraph article says they're looking at the pool pump, I think electrocution is the likely cause of death.

That’s just so tragic. The poor wife/mother must be in absolute hell right now.

I nearly failed to make it out alive from an indoor pool in a Copenhagen hotel in December 2017.

I forgot what a crap swimmer I was.

Indeed. I can’t imagine how awful it must be.

I think it relates to excessive sucction at the drain, caused by the pump. In trying to free the 9 year old girl, the others became trapped too. Terrible tradgedy at worst possible time.

What’s your source? It is unlikely for a pool pump to malfunction and as a result then become stronger.

Terrible for all involved.

It is much more common than people think and a definite possibility here.

Awful situation, and I can't help but feel for the families.

I did wonder if it was electrocution at first but the chemical aspect may also be the culprit.

Awful, awful, awful.

Speculation.

Some reports have referred to previous incidents.

What horrible horrible news.

It sounds like the sister in the pool first then her brother in to get her out as she was in difficulty .... and then their father too.

The mum and wife must be inconsolable

rofl

If you don't mind me saying, that's a very strange thing to forget. Does it not come back to you are getting ready in the changing room, or as you're getting into the pool.

I have visions of you struggling and trying to get to the edge saying to yourself "damn, I knew there was something about this caper I had to be careful of, and now I remember what it was. I can't do it"
