So who is looking forward to seeing this film?

Christian Bale is Batman, after seeing him in Equilibrium / American Psycho i think he's the perfect candidate for the role! also Gary Oldman has a role in the film and i hope he has a big part in it as he was great in Leon & The Fifth Element! Alfred's role is played by Michael Caine, also staring in the film is Morgan Freeman, Katie Holmes & Cillian Murphy (guy from 28 days later)

The new Batmobile (or "Tumbler" to give it the military name lol) is awesome. They built 4 fully working cars for the movie at a cost of $1.3million... per car.

Its got a hand built version of the Corvette LS2 engine I believe and on set they had to limit themselves to 100mph as the stunt drivers were actually out accelerating the camera cars. The head stunt bloke described it as having handling like a go kart..... that happens to be 9ft wide and 15ft long

$1.3m per car? ouch..

Why so much? its just 4 wheels and some armour?

What was the original speed if it was not limited?

I see Mentmore Towers (Nr Leighton Buzzard) has been used again, this time as the Wayne Mansion. Used loads of times for films & TV and last seen as the "London" home of Rick & Evelyn in The Mummy Returns, in Eyes Wide Shut and Ali G In Da House.

Have to agree with you there LA. Schumacher should've been taken outside and shot (with explosions and slow-motion of course) for that abomination.

I've seen most of Batman Begins and its certainly a move in the right direction. Not overly convinced by Caine as Alfred as he just plays it as Micahel Caine really.

Any fans of the otehr batman films might be shocked. this movie has actually been described as jumpy and slightly scary for the younger folk. To borrow a quote from another site from someone who has actually seen the film :-

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am absolutely GIDDY about seeing this film. I think it is possibly the seminal moment of the year for me (I'm not kidding).

I am a Batman obsessive. I think the films are excellent (in order of release, excluding Batman and Robin which I'm not even gonna count as a Batman film or else it will let the side down bigtime). I think the Tim Burton take on Batman is just right, and I'm hoping this new 'dark' Batman film follows on from what Burton started.

Batman should be a dark character, who frightens people and who isn't really understood by anyone; dressing up as a giant bat demonstates pretty odd psychological issues, and the film should reflect this.

I have deliberately avoided watching a dodgy copy of this film as I want to see it in its full glory on the big screen. I think Christian Bale will be excellent in the role, just as he was in American Psycho (a brilliant film for those who haven't seen it).

I have read large portions of the script for the new film and there are some amusing lines, particularly from Bale. I just hope the film lives up to the potential that it has, and hence the franchise is kept alive (as there is so much scope for more).

My feelings exactly. My wife and I disagree on this - she doesn't like Burton's work at all - but I think he captured Batman very well. Bruce Wayne is by definition pretty unhinged and dark. Ok Keaton wasn't the best actor to play him, but you've got to hand it to Burton for getting that slighly gothicky darkness just right.

I am looking forward to this new film immensely. And the bonus is that my wife is as well.
