Sony sound bar sync issues..

I've got a Sony soundbar connected to the digital optical output on the tv (LG) but I've always got issues with the sound being out of sync. Internal tv speakers are fine, perfectly in sync but as soon as I set the output to optical, it's out of sync slightly. Tried different settings on the tv but nothing works.

The optical cable is really thin - could this cause the sync issues? Would it be worth buying a new cable?

Dont buy a new cable just change the audio delay or try connecting via hdmi if possible using theport marked arc

Digital is digital if there is sound the cable is working

Ok thanks. Tried the audio delay but just can't get it right. I'll check what connections there is on the soundbar, can't remember seeing an hdmi.

if that fails try turning off audio processing like fake surround sound

I used to get these issues on Freeview and especially on Freesat. Since going to Sky, no issues at all.
