I have a seat mii which i use for autotest and autosolo which has done me proud but im looking for a bit more low down power. It made 88hp when it was on a dyno but need to rev the wee thing to get the most out of it. I know the tsi turbos will bolt on but lag would be a issue. Iv thought about the m24 supercharger from a 1.4 twincharged golf amd have one allready but before i went into makeing it work the ecu would be my biggest problem.
Could a normal ecu work with it being tuned. Or would a standalone be the only option.. the car only has map sensor. There is very little info about it unless its a mx5
Other engines are a posability but being a 3 cyl im not sure a 4cyl would fit between the chassis rails
I would be happy with 100hp overall. 2 3k needs more ooomph

There are many options, but it should be feasible to add boost with the OEM ecu, as long as you can find a competent tuner, as opposed to some random Dave who just flashes in generic garbage.

Failing that, there are a number of aftermarket piggy back ecu units that could be used, although they are less common these days.

And if it's a direct injection...that may add further complications for any piggyback route.

Really...it'd probably just be easier to buy the supercharged vehicle ?

Or I see they offer an electric one....a hacked electric vehicle would actually have a lot of potential for autotest type work.

The car isnt direct injection which is a good thing. I do think the 1.0 tsi engines in the up! Tsi and the gti were tho. Getting a faster car isnt realy a option since most faster cars tend to be bigger. And even tho the mii is quite a bit down on capacity and power compared to the rest in autosolo it holds its own and. The size helps in autotest. Just a shame the closest local regular autosolo is a 400mile round trip to ardeer.

If just regular port injection, then it should be relatively easy to sort tuning one way or another.

It's only my experience, but LC Engineering supplies a supercharger for the 3RZ engine that uses the standard setup in 4psi 'low boost' form but requires a piggyback ECU and fifth injector for 8psi 'high boost'.

a simple cheap standalone (seconhand is fine) will give you all the tools you need to get the most from the setup and add a few safeguards into the system/mapping-you just need a competent tuner who can build a simple loom and connect it alltogether (with sensors) to get it running---if planned out should,nt cost stupid amounts of money either
