Online PDF Issue

Can anyone help me

I am trying to get a PDF which I can fill in online saved to my computer so that it can be shown in a document and no matter what I'm trying I just can't seem to do it, If I save it as a PDF file to my computer it just opens in microsoft edge when I try to open it.

The PDF that i'm trying to save can be found here https://casp-uk.net/casp-tools-checklists/ and I need to be ble to submit the completed version as part of a project file.

Any suggestions gratefully received as it's driving me crazy

You need a pdf editor to be able to edit it. I think there are free ones out there but not sure how good they are. Adobe pro isn’t cheap. On windows 10 Edge is the default viewer for pdf files which is why it keeps opening.

Do you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed?

If not, install it first. Then, when you have downloaded the file, right-click on it and choose "Open with", then "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC"

MS Edge likes to take over PDF's but the files you listed are "editable" in Reader as they have been created with editable fields (text boxes, tick-boxes etc.)

Go to ‘preferences’ then ‘advanced security’ and untick all the boxes that are ticked.

I've been able to download the PDF to my desktop, open it, make comments, save it, close the file & open up the filled out pdf without issue.

First download the pdf & save it to your computer. Then open it in Acrobat Reader (the free version is fine) & make selections & comments as required. Then Save As with a new file name & everything should be ok.

Thank you all, I have downloaded acrobat reader and all is solved. If I sign up to the free trial of the pro version just before I need to submit will this enable me to convert it into a word document so that it can all be submitted as one project file with other pieces of work? I don't want to commit to an annual subscription but could pay for one month if required just to submit with my dissertation.

Which version of Microsoft Word/Office do you have?

Some of the more modern versions of Word allow you to convert PDF files to Word documents and vice-versa.

2007, It looks like I can convert the word document to PDF but not sure about PDF to word.
Guess I should have updated my Word version before starting my dissertation

Yeah, 2007 is a little on the old side now.

You could always try PDF to DOC
