Having never been to the F1 i'm hoping to get some advice.

I want to book 2 tickets at Silverstone ideally for the whole race weekend in 2020 and happy to spend around £1000 so looking for advice of those that have been.

If I book general admission tickets I understand there is no reserved seats but you can wander around a fair bit of the course. If I look at paddock seats which there are plenty to choose from are you restricted to your seat or do you get the freedom of walking around like the general admission?

I have registered interest to stay at the Hilton Garden once that opens if not I can sort accommodation nearby.

Any tips or advice for those that have been will be greatly appreciated.

Of course you can go walk about if you want to.

The seat will be yours for when you want to return to it.

Never been for the F1 , but many years of trips for the Motogp.

General admisison Motogp gives roving grandstand seat Fri/Sat - not all stands open

You can walk round the whole circuit - but its a bloody long walk, trust me.

If you need a Raceday seat, that needs to be booked ahead.

Thank you everyone, I'm now leaning towards the T1 enclosure.

Will search other reviews online tonight with the view to book tomorrow.

Has anyone here been here before? Again any other advice for the weekend will be appreciated

Silverstone inst the greatest track fro Spectating sadly, and I can only imagine how busy F1 makes it.

Vale and club is a good spot to watch - usually a screen opposite (bikes anyway)

Worth watching them down the hangar straight - get the other side of the bridge for that.

Others will give better F1 info than I can.

Are you dead set on Silverstone?

Because there are plenty of European races that are much better for spectating and which, including flights, cost about the same (or less) as going to Silverstone.

Seems you're not going to Silverstone any more but Silverstone grandstands only have allocated seating on the Sunday. On Friday and Saturday grandstand ticket holders can wander around and sit in any stand you want (I think there may be a couple of exclusions but can't remember)

I've been going to Silverstone in all it's forms for 35 years. Today the best spots for max car viewing times are village (B stand, not A) and Beckett's (any) because you can see the cars opposite sides of the track with binoculars.

If it's for at atmosphere, vale or brooklands/woodcote, any grandstand any general admission.

For overtaking/action Stowe (any mainly B stand in the middle of A and C oddly!) or Wellington straight looking down from woodcote (A stand) but any decent seats will have long gone by now.

Club (B stand) for the podium if you can still get a ticket.

If a grandstand seat is out get general admission to vale or woodcote, anything else is a waste of time unless something spectacular happens.
