Is it possible to get one trickle charger for both car and motorcycle?
I don’t know enough about batteries and a quick google search doesn’t provide much help.
Do any of you have one trickle charger that you use for both?

I have the Aldi one which is very cheap and can charge cars, motorcycles and leisure batteries. Working well so far and 15% the cost of CTek

Had the Aldi charger for several years, have a couple in fact, as said several modes, works as well as my oxford which I've had to replace once, the Aldi one is a bit of a bargain.

I have a couple of Optimate chargers that I've used both on bikes and cars without any issue.

I also have an Aldi and Lidl one - they are both crap

The CTEK (I have the 5amp) will charge a battery that neither of the above will charge (it's only got to save one car battery to pay for itself) it will also put far more charge into it.

The cheapies may maintain a good battery but that's all.

I've got several of each. The CTEK is the only one that has failed so far.

Another chap had one that failed and took out the ECU on an Elise. Look on SELOC if you want the details.

Take your point as it’s obviously based on your experience. If your battery is duff though it’s always a duff battery and needs replacing. Can’t blame a “conditioner” for the batteries faults.

The CTEK has repeatedly charged batteries that other chargers can't charge and repeatedly (but not always) those batteries have then been fine.

If a £15 charger won't charge a £70+ battery and a £50 one will, then the cheaper charger isn't worth having

If anyone wants to buy the Aldi / Lidl ones I'll happily sell them but I'm keeping my CTEKs

If it's a 12v trickle charger it's a 12v trickle charger! It doesn't matter what vehicle the battery is fitted to. The type of battery might make a difference (lead acid, gel, lithium etc.) but the type of vehicle won't.

Except there is a drip or a trickle...

I paid a bit more for the 5amp as it will charge a good size car battery overnight.

And a 12v drip charger is a 12v drip charger. Battery size and charge rate my be important but vehicle type is irrelevant.

i've had a few 0.8 amp Optimates on my cars for years. (my only Ctek broke).
0.8 is fine for maintenance of even quite large batteries, but there's a tendency for the yellow light to come on as it thinks the battery is sub-par. it might be but i doubt it, just that the it's a bigger battery.

I use ctek on both cars and bikes and have had no issues. The one I have can switch between 'car' and 'bike' modes so you could use one for both applications.

I bought a noco g7200, think it was about £70 from halfords. It senses what battery type it’s connected to, charges then maintains. It’s recovered a couple of long dead race batteries (varley red tops) so has paid for itself.

Currently used to maintain the lightweight battery on my elise so had read up a lot beforehand as the dead ecu/gauge cluster is a nightmare scenario. planning to get another set of tails to add to whatever bike I end up with.

Have a google. I think there are other noco options at less money. I’d deffo recommend

I have an Aldi smart one that doe's an OK job keeping things in condition. I also have this one which I converted to a SAE plug - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001C827ZA/ref...

For £6, it's great. Not smart, but I juse use it for 12 hours if any get flat.
