Hi gents, I searched around the forum a bit to find info on what kind of seals should be around the tail lights but didn't find a thing. Any info would be great! I started stripping the body down to remoVe it from the chassis and fix and repair both. Ya gotta love rusty screws and bolts.

If you are talking about the fuego lights there is an integrated rubber seal in the rear of the lens (I was cleaning mine just yesterday so let me know if you need a picture)

That seal alone is not likely to stop water, for a start as these are upside down vs the Fuego the seal join on a wedge is at the top so water would pass through the 2/3mm gap (clever tvr lol)

Most folk will sikaflex or similar the external join

or any old silicone will do. If you can get it about the same colour as the body paint, so much the better, else use clear. Use masking tape around the hole and lens and peel off after smoothing - simples.

I have the seals on the backside of the light but that doesn’t look like it would seal properly so a bead of caulk it is when putting them back.
The complete gap between the light and the body was filled when I pulled them out.

The SikaFlex we get here is great as a construction sealant (i.e. window sealing), is a b*tch to work and is available at big box stores like Home Depot. But I wouldn't use it in an application that you might have to dissemble at some point. There might be more/different flavors in the UK. Grady
