Bodyshop Recommendations - West London to Crawley + Bristol
Discussion
Hi All,
I am looking at getting the bumpers made perfect on my 2008 basalt black 911 (perhaps even as far as a front end respray to get rid of stonechips), as I start to look at my move away from London/street parking. Nothing pressing, so planning to scope out a few places and see what they are like.
I am based in West London but regularly spend time Reigate way. (Also Bristol - I would probably go to J B Autos, as their reputation is perfect unless there is a hidden gem there). It's really going to come down to cost v quality v convenience (Bristol is the least convenient for me at the moment)
Any recommendations very welcomed, I am looking for that perfect mixture of top quality work (I am a self confessed freak when it comes to paintwork/colour blend e.t.c) but at reasonable money. Not fussed by a fancy showroom, it's the sprayer/technique/prep that matters. Equally happy with a man in a shed with a good oven, as getting the silver service treatment.
I have seen a few recommendations, but keen to get an updated view (with example prices, e.g. I have quite often seen £300 + vat for a front bumper (but equally have had quotes of £180), and anywhere between £900-1300 for a front end respray.
SL Restoration - Seems like a great outfit but some strong indications that their fee's/"additional" services are less popular
Washington Coachworks - Again a fantastic rep, but they seem to know it and charge extra for it
Langley Autocraft - Apparently recommended by a couple of porsche specialists, I am passing Hemel in a couple of weeks so might pop in
Merton Crash Repairs - Again I have seen recommendations on here, but again indications that they are pricey.
E&A coachworks - Seems to have a good rep
Grimshaw & Wake Car Body Repairs - Again a good rep
Thoughts?
