Drinking games
Discussion
End of term on the 16th of this month and we have all agreed to go out for a few drinks (Strangely the end of term co-insides with a promotional night where topless beauties will be serving drinks down the local student bar) and then to go to one of their apartments. Any way basically we need to find some better drinking games than we play now, I think PHers will have played a few in the past so I was wondering if you could share.
There's one that gets everyone butchered within four minutes and is great for a lull in a party. Unfortunately Sting is involved
Step one: Line up girls on one side of the room, boys on the other (steady, it's not that sort of game)
Step two: make sure everyone is furnished with a lot of strong drink
Step three: Put Roxanne on the stereo
From here, boys take a hearty swig every time he sings the word 'Roxanne', and girls do the same every time he sings 'Put on your red light'. It starts off nice and slow, but in the middle it gets entertaining

Recalling from my hockey roots, good drinking games include:
21s
Start at 1 and go up in numeric order to 21.
The starter of 21s begins by saying 'Its a game of 21s to my left/right...."
at this point they have the option of saying up to three things:
1 - this would mean that play passes onto the next person who can say upto 3 numbers
1,2 - this would change the direction of play, so if it was going clockwise, it now goes anti-clockwise.
1,2,3 - this would miss out the next person but carry on in going the way in which it started.
Play then carrys on until one of the following happens.
Someone messes up - fine them as much or as little as you see fit.
Someone says 21 - again fine as you see fit.
Someone says a multiple of 21, for example 10,11 or 6,7,8 - fine them for being stupid.
This is the interesting bit, if and when you get to 21, the person who said the number gets to replace a number for a word, the game starts again. The longer the game lasts the more drinking will be done as the more times you mess up.
Will add more later, but bunnies, race cars, fives, cardanal huff and the name game come to mind.

The name game a.k.a. drink while you think.
Only famous names, no matter how obscure count in this game.
Rules are:
You must think of someone famous that starts with the first letter of the surname of the previous famous person stated.
I.e. Previous person said 'James Bond' you could say 'Bill Murray' next person would have to think of someone begining 'M'.
Single names for example xena or madonna, miss the next person out, as do double barrel names like Griff Rhys-Jones (take the R as the next starting point)
Double names reverse the direction of travel ie 'Colin Cooper'
Best rule of all Drink while you think, once you run out of drink your out, last person wins.
If you need more I will see if I can find the others I have posted

Chandeliers
Not really one for playing whilst out & about but good fun anyway.
Setting up:
1. Ensure a large supply of beer is to hand
2. Obtain a sturdy table
3. Obtain 1 pint glass
4. Obtain a 1/2 pint glass for each player.
5. Pint glass is placed in the centre of the table
6. 1/2 pints are arranged around it (making a kind of upside-down chandelier shape)
7. Each 1/2 pint glass is 1/2 filled with the player's beer of choice.
8. The central pint glass is filled to the brim (if players are drinking different beers, all the better - the pint gets a mixture of all of them!)
9. Obtain a suitable coin, best are: US quarter, old shilling or old (large) 5p piece. At a pinch a new 10p will do.
Playing:
1. Each player takes it in turn to bounce the coin into a glass. ("Active" player)
2. If they miss, the coin passes on and the next player becomes active.
3. If they land the coin in a 1/2 pint, the player who "owns" the 1/2 has to down it, refill and hand the coin back to the active player to take another bounce.
4. If the active player makes 3 successive hits in any of the 1/2 pint glasses, they get to make up a rule (e.g. left handed drinking etc - use your imagination).
5. Any player caught breaking a rule has to down their 1/2 regardless of other play.
6. Note that (subject to rules) there's nothing to stop any player from drinking whenever they like as long as they refill their 1/2 when empty and don't nurse a dribble in the bottom of their glass.
7. If the active player lands in the central pint glass, that triggers a race, whereby all players (including the active one) down their 1/2's. Last player to finish has to down the pint and then takes over the coin.

Arrogance;
Take one pint glass, one coin, and whatever mix of alchohols takes your fancy.
The first player pours as much as he likes of a drink of his choosing into the glass. He then spins the coin. If a tail comes up, the glass passes (still with contents) to the next player. If a head comes up, our lucky player drinks whatever is in the glass, and then has another go....
Or if you really ask me nicely, I can give you the rules to the game to end all drinking games, "Ring of Fire". Played of course with the ubiquitous "international drinking rules"
Let's hear it for egg chaser's and their drinking games....

1. Quarters is an evil game......
Shot glass in the middle of the table, aim is to tiddly wink one coin using another into the glass.
IF you get it in you nominate someone else to have a drink, but there is no pointing allowed with your fingers, so you must point with your elbow.
If you get the coin in 3 times in a row you get to make up a new rule.
gets very silly very quickly......
2. 4 Jacks
It involves a pack of cards, dealt out evenly to all participants. Each player puts their card face up on the stack. First jack laid gets to nominate a drink, second jack has to order and pay for it, third jack has to sip it, fourth jack has to drink rest of it.
This is good as long as no one orders a depth charge......

We did one at a work party once... we were all sat in a circle on the floor and it's all very hazzy now but it involved the person on the left of you either daring you to do something (ie go down on the Financial Director) or drink a mixed drink of their choice... The boardroom table got broken by the largest girl at work being dared to slide across it on her front, one of the others being dared to dance on it (and scratch it to bits) in her high heels. I chose the drink and after 9 hours of drinking, a glass of port and cointreau downed in one just made me go sideways and collapse.
