It really is quite disgusting that the advertorials in these trash papers are being used to fuel these scams. Zero due diligence on the part of the newspapers (loads of regional ones have run similar scams).

I'd make them partially liable for the losses. Sure the victims are all stupid, greedy, naive, desperate, or all 4. But its vile that the newspapers themselves are running promotions for these scammers. They should certainly know better.
