Steering wheel buttons

The buttons behind the steering wheel on my T350 are only working intermittently. Particularly the left one. I've replaced the buttons and wiring with no effect.
Is there somewhere else I should be looking.

Neither of my steering wheel buttons worked when I got my T350. The problem was the ribbon cable wrap in the steering column.

If I remember correctly it comes from a Ford Mondeo mkIII. I got a new one off ebay for a lot less than the TVR price.

Changed the steering column cassette as non linear suggested, thanks. Seems to have solved the issue.
My parts tracking skills weren't so good on eBay. Racetech had them at almost half the cost of TVR parts though.
