As we head towards the New Year, there may be some of us who want to become more healthy or stay healthy for longer, and I thought it might be good to share some of our healthy eating options.

However, we have already discussed to death our opinions on what is healthy eating and as I recall we agreed that it's whatever works for you. So please let's avoid another in-depth nutritional discussion that will only spiral downwards smile

This thread is therefore about sharing some healthy eating recipes and ideas, not about knocking someone for their beliefs or opinions, because its whatever works for them.

I'm in the plant-based camp eating mainly whole foods. I also use low carb/keto mixed with intermittent fasting for weight loss. I came across this new advice today that includes some easy healthy recipes. It's been produced by a US doctor who also shares the results of the professional advice she gives to her patients. Anyway, some food for thought smile

What works for you? Share away.............

Not the best advise, but what I found worked best for me was to skip breakfast, and work a bit harder at work in the morning, so I wouldn't be sat thinking about food! Apple mid morning really helps if needed.

I also found that swapping beers for gin and diet lemonade really helped cut calories.

I tend to make a large pot and split into four separate meals with rice, beans whatever. My current go to meals are:

Chickpea curry - I love curry and this is a good combination of flavour and healthiness. I serve it with wholemeal rice.

Roasted cauli and couscous zhoug - This one sounds strange but it really tasty. The roasted cauliflower and onions (with a hint of curry from the turmeric), the crispiness of the onions and sharpness of the sauce make an interesting combination. The dates can be a bit too sweet, so I sometimes leave them out, but that's just my preference.

Chilli - I use this chilli recipe and add two tins of mixed beans, one of chickpeas and two tins of tomatoes instead of meat.
