Ok could someone help me determine my readings ? the car will sometimes cut out while coasting to a stop with clutch down holds idle perfect when stationary only when coming to a stop it seems to struggle and sometimes drops but does not cut out other times it does , I’ve had the stepper out and cleaned it and the connectors and finally got round to plugging in the RG (never done this before so it means little to me so helpful if you comments in words I can understand lol....

This one is ign on not running

This one is running at op temp

This one when quite warm

Checked fault codes got this and cleared them

Then this after cleared codes ign off and started back up

Took round the block for a spin seemed a tad better and was not cutting out but still low RPM when pushing clutch in then coasting to stop but never cut out !

Any advise on the reading would be good to see if there are any issues I need to look at ?

Hope I’ve loads photos correctly!!!

Happy new year everyone !

Ok so as it throw fault code 44 Lambda odd that’s near side ?) I’ve ordered new Lambda from Racedirect OEM NTK and will replace that (i also checked connections etc on car all looks ok )

A few days ago my dad said jezz that smells Rich when I pulled up at his house so if it is running rich the Lambda is faulty and could this be affecting the stalling when coasting to junctions ? Idles fine when stopped ! Have cleaned the stepper and cleaned connections to it and cleaned the hole !

Just be good for someone to cast there eye over my readings to check I’m not missing anything ?

I tried to look at your photos yesterday and they are just too small and blurry to be able to read anything on them. I clicked on them but there seems to be only one size on thumbsnap and it's just not readable.

Thanks

Hopefully my lambda arrives Friday so will fit and run and test with RG again

Not done an ECU reset is it worth doing that or fitting Lambda running first ? I cleared the fault code already though

Try it first but if the code/problem re appears you need to do some basic voltage testing.
There are a few connections along the sensor wiring so it's worthing pulling these apart and using some electrical cleaner on them.

Check the short trim is cycling back and forth at 1000 rpm on a warm engine- if the sensor is dead it wont move and likely to show at adding fuel stuck at 100%. Also clear the fault code and see if it comes back, as you don't have a time stamp for when the error occurred so it may not be current. Problem with a dropping idle, it may not be the sensor or the ECU, its simply the engine is dropping its RPM faster than the ECU expects so it looses control, so it could be a cylinder dropping out or an air leak as well. AFMs are a prime candidate for mixture issues- best test is with a simple test meter-detailed here 1/4 of a way down the page- bit by Mark Adams. The warm up spike is the give away on a faulty AFM- it should be around .5 of a second.

Thanks chaps ! My son has popped round with a Lambda socket so have replaced the “odd” as per fault code which I’ve read is near side ? And pulled o/s and cleaned while had socket , ran till fans cut in and it seemed to run fine , couldn’t test drive or run RG as laptop not with me but , but blocked stepper air pipe and revs dropped to about 600-700 then back to 950 when released

Checked and cleaned both lambda sensors and connections and checked things like plug leads etc were fitted correctly could not hear any kind of misfire so fingers crossed will run over weekend and see ?

Ok so now with new n/s Lambda replaced with NTK OEM and o/s cleaned took car out for a 100 mile trip and no cutting out while coasting to a stop ! Holds idle as it did before the issue so fingers crossed that it was indeed a faulty lambda !

Once again thanks for all the replies and help and suggestions really does help and make you feel ya not on your own when trying to keep an old gal (with 122k miles on the clock) on the road !!!
