Hi All,
Found a wallet at Sainsburys earlier. Driving Licence, Credit Cards, £20 cash.
Young Guy from his pic on the licence.
Asked at customer services if anyone had come in asking about a wallet. While I was giving my details up comes the guy. Quick thanks, perfunctory hand shake, gone! I would be over the moon if someone gave me back my wallet and cards intact!! On New Years Eve as well!! And yes, it was him from the photo, not some chancer overhearing! Ungrateful Prat!!

I stopped to help a guy change a wheel on Christmas Eve. He was in a bit of a state, with the jack not holding on the cobbles. He was a young guy and had damaged his hand doing so, and was having trouble lining the wheel bolts up, So an old fart like me soon sorted him out. He popped a bottle of wine in my wife’s shopping bag.
Did you make sure to film it, then post it on LinkedIn and Facebook?
I say this on the basis that simply doing a "good deed" isn't about being rewarded, but you're implying that you should have received something in return.
To a young person now (early 20's) I imagine losing a wallet isn't a big deal - you can block cards instantly on a banking app, it costs nothing to replace them, and you can use Google/Apple pay and banking apps to access and spend money until they are replaced.

NO, I didn't want or expect a reward, merely a genuine thank you. Too much to ask??

It was purely the way/speed he did it! Mumbled thanks, a perfunctory handshake and gone! A little enthusiasm for saving him a load of messing on NYE maybe!!Obviously I expected too much from todays yoof!! You did the right thing, it is no big deal, what else could you have done
Remember, never forget, what you did today may well have a knock on effect, the very person you helped today will possibly help someone another day, on and on it goes until most people are doing it, well this is the theory of it
Think on new years day you can walk tall walk straight and look the world right in the eye
Nicely done, you have helped someone rather than leaving them in more trouble
When you are older and lying there dying you will feel no pain, as you take your last breaths you will see everything nice about your life and go out with a big smile on your face
You're a good person and the world right now needs good people
