Hi all sorry if this has been asked before but I'm new to this site and to porsche. My interior light works on and off but not when doors opened also drivers window doesnt drop when opening and stays low when closing but the car wont lock with the fob is opens once locked with the key bonnet and boot and doors open
I have to use the key and turn it 3 times for the central locking to work does this seem like a possible micro switch or do you think there are 3 different issues .
Thanks in advance for any help👍

Do you get a definite 'clunk' when you remove the key from the ignition? The steering lock assembly puts load on the ignition barrel and switch and it eventually gives up leaving a host of electrical maladies - usually locking; lights and such.

A replacement steering / ignition lock is a quick-ish swap (you can swap just the switch; it's a VW part and cheaper, but the assembly was modified and the later version wont fail again) - you also retain the key and barrel from the original - no coding required either way.

Another option is the door lock itself (drivers side) if the lock isn't registering a contact when the lock is latched then the locking wont work, nor the window comfort drop/raise. Interior light would generally be ON though (as the door lock is still registering as the door being open).

The door lock is an easy job; just make sure the inner door membrane isn't damaged or you'll have a wet door panel next time it rains!! Again; external microswitches are available cheaper than a replacement lock (not from Porsche though) but there are up to 4 internal switches inside the casing which can give various issues (deadlocking not working etc).

Great info thanks didnt think of checking when taken key out of the ignition however I have tried this now and still getting the same results car unlocks with fob so does boot and bonnet but doest lock I have found if I turn the key 3 times to lock it allows the central locking to kick in and the alarm sets and the red LED is flashing in the screen
